Successful Sewing Project!

I am so excited about my newest creation! Not only does the dress actually fit Chess, but we also got a lot of compliments on it today at church.

Haircut

This is how I always wore my hair:

It was really annoying me, so I decided to get it cut from this...

to this, my new mom haircut:

The lady took an hour layering and stacking the back. She said my thick hair really gave her a challenge. I think it turned out pretty good.

Chess' First Swim and First Roll-Over

Here we are walking to the pool.

The face says, "I'm not quite sure what to think of this."

This face says, "I THINK I like it."

I looked over the balcony, and this is how Jared and Chess were watching TV/having tummy time-so cute!

Soon after, Jared called up to me that Chess rolled from her tummy to her back! I missed it!

I tried to get her to do it again, but to no avail (she did do it again for me another day, though).

Family Party

We had another fun family pool party at the MacPherson's house. Thanks to them for letting everybody come over and play!

Chess' face cracks me up in this one!

1st Yard Sale Find

I have never been much of a yard sale goer, but last Saturday Chess and I decided to give it a try. It is a little difficult to do with a 3-month-old: do I take her out of the car seat, do I tote the whole thing? We drove by many yard sales and got out at about 3. I only made one purchase, but I am quite pleased with it-this cute desk. You can even open the top and it has letters and a peg board. I only paid $5, and in a year or so I think it will come in pretty handy

3 Months Old

Chess is getting harder to do photo shoots with because (1) she wiggles all over the place and (2) I can't keep her hands out of her mouth! She is cuter than ever, though, as you can see below. She now weighs almost 15 lbs!

My Attempt at a Scrapblog

I have ventured out into the world of scrapblogging. It's pretty easy. What do you think?

My Baby Sister's Married!

On Saturday my little sister, Andrea, got married in the Atlanta, Georgia Temple. It was a sweet and beautiful ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Mikel Saxton

It looks like we cut and pasted ourselves (I wouldn't put a crane in the background if I did that)!

Chess is all dressed up and ready.

I had some fun editing.

Their reception was at a beautiful cabin of some friends of our family.

My Favorite Smell

I have been enjoying seeing our magnolia tree bloom this year. Every time I see a new blossom within reach, I have to go smell it.
