A Time of Thanksgiving

Here's a game of tag
That should be great fun,
Count ten of your blessings
Begin with number one.
Count to number ten
Then tag four others,
You can tag your friends,
Sisters, children or mothers.

My ten blessings:

1. My Saviour, Jesus Christ
2. A loving husband
3. A sweet and fun daughter
4. Being a stay-at-home mom, and getting to see Chess grow and develop every day
5. Supportive parents and family
6. Jared's job
7. Our home and everything in it
8. Being healthy
9. Technology that allows me to get information at the click of a button, particularly craft and recipe blogs
10. Walmart

I tag Amy, Andrea, Emily, and Heidi

Just copy the poem above to your blog and add
your ten blessings below the poem.

7 Months Old

My baby girl is 7 months old today!

I love her serious expression in this one.

My little model is showing off her 2 new bottom teeth. Can you see them?

Here, she is doing her latest thing: clapping!

I couldn't resist this huge bow for a few pictures!

Appliques

I decided to give appliques a try to expand my craft skills. It was a little difficult at first, but with practice, I'm sure it will get easier. Overall, I am pleased with the results.

This "C" is the first applique I made. Chess likes it, despite her facial expression. Don't look too closely, though; it is pretty rough around the edges.

Then I found a tutorial for this robe, and had to make it for Halle's birthday.

Stats and Photos

Chess is 6 1/2 months and had her doctor's check-up yesterday. She now weighs 19 lbs and 10 oz and is 27 inches long. At her 4 month check-up her height had increased a lot, and this time it was her weight that took off while she only grew 1/2 an inch longer. She had to have her finger pricked for blood work, but she didn't cry at all for that! Of course she screamed with her shots, but she calmed down very quickly. Once again, I was grateful Jared was there for moral support. Here are some pictures I took of her to celebrate being alive 1/2 a year!

Jared's Book

Jared loves to make up stories for Chess. He came up with one that he really liked and wanted to make it into a book. Jared worked so hard, for hours and hours, to perfect the story and work on the illustrations. He found a site called Lulu that will print your book for you, and we got the book in the mail a couple days ago. It is so awesome! Jared is giving the book to Chess as a Christmas gift. I think it is so cool that Chess will have this book written by her daddy just for her. I know she will love it, and when she is old enough she will really appreciate it, too. Jared is such a great dad.

Here a few pictures of the book. Jared has some more on his blog (click here). He also has more details about how he published it and links to the websites he used.

What else has Chess been up to?

Chess waited in line to vote.

She looked really cute for church.

Chess played her first video game at Andrea and Mikel's.

She went out to eat and sat in the highchair for the first time. She also sat in the buggy at the grocery store for the first time (not pictured).

Chess played with her cousins.

She learned to play the piano.

Chess played in the leaves.

Well, actually Bailey and Halle did, and Chess just watched.

And, she met her first horse.

That is one busy 6 month old!
