Imaginations at Play

I got a coupon in a mailer for this place called Imaginations at Play. So I decided to take Chess because it would only cost a few dollars. It was really neat. There was one area for babies that we stayed in most of the time. The rest was for toddlers and preschool-aged kids. It sort of reminded me of the Ink Museum in Gainesville b/c it had a lot of pretend play areas like a vet's office, grocery store, beach/sand area, etc.

The first three pictures are of the baby area:

The sand area:

Doesn't she look so grown-up here?

The music tree:

I might go again in a couple of years, although it is a little pricey. And, I would definitely bring a friend so I would have someone to talk to while Chess played.

Kidsignments

I went to a huge consignment sale last week and got lots of great stuff for a total of $83. I am a nerd, I know, but here it all is:

Chess doesn't even wear shoes yet, but these were all so cute, I couldn't resist. She'll wear them when she walks in a few months, right? I forgot to include some black patent leather mary janes.

Onesies, anyone?

cute dress and jumper

shirts and shorts for this summer
My motto is: plain is best.

pajamas

Chess loves board books so much.

These have been so much fun for all three members of the family. Jared builds beautiful towers.

Catching Up on Randomness

Chess is still intrigued by shadows.

She is now crawling everywhere. Yes, actually crawling. No more army crawl.

an ever-popular activity

a favorite place in the mornings

She never has seemed to mind coldness.

another towel I made
It's supposed to be a bug, but Jared calls it an alien.

This is first time she stood in her crib a few weeks ago. My friend Melody's baby just did it at 5 months. Oh well!

She likes to cuddle up under Daddy's armpits, legs, etc. when he's on the floor with her.

I love this one.

She liked it.

10 Months Old

Today Chess is 10 months old.

Coincidentally, her two top teeth broke through today, as well. She has hardly fussed about it at all. I probably wouldn't have noticed except the doctor said they were close to coming through at her last visit, so I have been keeping an eye on them.

Here are some pictures, as always.

Wordless Wednesday

Valentine's Day

Chess liked her gift from us.

We spent some family time by the lake.

I love this picture so much.

our family

Chess says, "Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Thompson for my Valentine! I love my bear and I wish I could eat the candy!"

She is really checking it out.

Chess also says, "Thank you Mimi and Poppy for my beautiful dress! Since I'm growing so fast, I will be able to wear it this summer!"

Jared's Shirt

This little shirt belonged to Jared when he was a little boy. His mom saved it and sent it to us before we had Chess.
