3 Months Old

Lera has been such a joy to have in our home. She is a happy baby and is starting to giggle and vocalize a lot. She loves to be held and is the wiggliest thing ever. She is sleeping better, usually doing a stretch of about 6-7 hours at night. She is very tall - over 25 inches at her 2 month appointment, which is above the 95th percentile. She is in the 90th for weight: 13 lbs 4 oz at 2 months. We are so thankful to have sweet Lera in our family.

Callaway Gardens

Callaway Gardens is giving free admission to enter all of January and February, so we thought we would make a day of it. There wasn't anything in bloom outside, but the indoor greenhouses were full of gorgeous flowers and the scenery was still beautiful. We found plenty to do and see.

Ready for the drive!

How many toys can one little girl fit on her lap?

It was such a beautiful January day: 65-70 degrees.

taking a lunch break

Chess, waiting for the "Birds of Prey" show to start. She was looking at some other little girls sitting on the same bench as us and copying the way they were sitting.

The owl was a big hit with Chess. After that she got bored.

This is in the butterfly center. It is a humid 85 degrees in there.

This is the only dang butterfly that would sit still for a picture.

Welcome to our humble home.

in the greenhouses

I really thought we were going to go home with a soaking wet child with all the ponds and fountains at this place.

We left with two tuckered-out girls.

A Blessing

I finally got some good photos of Lera in her blessing gown.

She has the most beautiful skin.

I found this hat someone made when Chess was born. :)

Doesn't she look like a baby doll here?

Georgia Snow

Bring on the snow!

I found this snowsuit at a thrift store for $0.25. It's a little snug, but I think it's awesome.

Chess's second time in snow flurries.

We actually had a little accumulation the next morning.

We only stayed out about 10 minutes because our noses were freezing.

The end.

From Old Shirts to New Dress

I made this dress from old shirts of mine and a onesie. I love how soft and comfy it is, and the fact that it cost nothing. I have plenty of old clothes, I just wish I had more time to make more of these. It doesn't take that long, but it's harder with two kids! I got the idea here and it originally came from here.
