Tallulah Gorge

We made a family day trip to one of Georgia's natural wonders - Tallulah Gorge!

Our first look at the gorge.  Trust me, this picture looks a lot more dangerous than it was.

Yes, it is a very steep drop-off, but that fence is extremely sturdy.

Starting down the stairs.  The girls did awesome.  There were a lot of stairs.

Chess was the first one to make it on the suspension bridge.

Here come the rest of us.

Checking out the view of the gorge.

About to start UP the stairs.  That was much harder.  Notice there are no pictures of us going up. :)  Jared put Lera on his shoulders, but Chess climbed all the stairs by herself.

We went swimming at the beach area after our hike, but I didn't bring the camera with me.  Then we went to the Tallulah Point store afterwards for a few treats.

The girls thought this old guy was pretty funny.

More than happy with some pink stick candy.

Jared and I got bottled cider - mine was cherry and Jared's was apple.

Fun family day!

Cute Sister Moment

The girls were dressing up for dancing and Lera wanted her ballet slippers on.  I was busy in the kitchen, and when I looked over I saw Lera sitting patiently while Chess was "tying" the ribbons for her.  It was so sweet.  A lovely moment in the day of a mom.

Aunt Andrea's Super Water Party!

When the weather first warmed up, Andrea invited her nieces and nephews over for a little water fun.

All the cousins eating lunch.

Shoving Lera down the water slide.  She's such a light-weight that she wasn't going anywhere on her own.

Group shot.

So glad I caught this look on camera.  I see it a lot.

I think she is spraying someone here.

I got this beautiful shot of Sam.

These two little turkeys wanted to sit in the wagon.

Thanks for a fun water party, Andrea!

I turned 31.

Now I'm not just 30, I'm IN MY 30's. :)

Lunch with a sweet friend at Red Robin

Dinner with my little family at Cheesecake Factory

My birthday candy bar!  I love that the girls now actually sing the Happy Birthday song.  It used to be just Jared singing, or just me for his birthday.  Their little voices are so sweet and add so much to make it a wonderful and special day!

31 is great!

Mother's Day

Unfortunately, Mother's Day started off rainy, so we couldn't get a good picture of me and the girls outside.  Not to say they would automatically be good if they were outside.  Look at last year's for proof of that.

My momma and sisters

Nan-Naw, her daughters, and some granddaughters (all the grown-up and married ones, anyway)

Bailey helped the kids put on a little Mother's Day show.  Chess participated and did a cute job.

I guess she was feeling the love, because afterwards she ran around giving lots of hugs.

Cute girl

Vogel, again

We had a great day at Vogel a few weeks ago.

First thing when we get there, Lera wants a "nack," of course.  She also has been known to ask for a "nack" while eating dinner, before getting into bed, always in the car, and anywhere else she happens to be.

Chess had to get in on the snack-eating action, too.

I love this family photo.  It captures everyone's personalities in some way.

A few of us went on a walk around the lake.  Halle put daisies in Lera's hair.

:)

Cloudy day

We were so glad to spend some time with Ka-Kaw while she was here!
