Preparing for Christmas

I put up our first-ever Christmas lights!  Although I only had two strands I bought on clearance at the end of last Christmas, I was still really excited about my lights.

Decorated the tree.

Decorated each other.

Lera put the star on top.

Did a Christmas treasure hunt.  Chess read all the clues herself.  She is such a good little reader now.  The girls have really gotten into doing treasure hunts during the break.  Now that Chess is writing, she makes them for me and Jared to do all the time.  I love it.

We decorated a Christmas house.

We went to our town tree-lighting, but missed the actual tree being lit.

Rode in a horse-drawn carriage.

Went to the Festival of the Nativities.

Saw Nan-Naw there.

Made graham cracker houses.

Went to see Bailey and Halle in Seussical.

Went to Bass Pro Shop to play and visit Santa.

Had Christmas fun at my parents'.

Decorated cookies.

Some of us insisted on dressing like it was summer.

Played with toys (thanks for this one, Mimi and Poppy!)

Chess got sick and missed her school Christmas party and PJ day.

Watched a Christmas light show.

Made Christmas cookies for Santa.

Ate Christmas Eve dinner at Mellow Mushroom.

Put out Santa's cookies.

Read Twas the Night Before Christmas, and went to bed to wait for Santa to come!
